CD-Extra

The CD-Extra consists of an audio part according to the specifications of the audio CD. Therefore, this format can be played on any audio CD player. It is followed by a data part, e.g. for title, texts or background information. This second part (session) can be read by a CD-ROM drive only. The standard was defined by Philips and Sony in the so-called "Blue Book".
